Watershed Monitoring and Conservation Systems
Watershed monitoring networks are the scientific basis for targeting and controlling water quantity and quality problems.
Monitoring systems are used to target high source areas, as well as estimate the impact of different land-use activities on surface and ground water quality. Watershed Monitoring Networks are also the basis for calibration and validation of simulation models.
The “Watershed Monitoring and Conservation Systems” initiative includes the following projects:
AMZnet – Amazon Monitoring Network
ANDESgis – Andean Environmental Technology Initiative
IWM – Integrated Watershed Management
Watershed Academy
Project CONDOR
