Community Outreach
World Water Watch develops and implements educational programs in communities, in order to strengthen environmental protection and related objectives.
Community groups and individuals assist in surveys, volunteer monitoring, watershed management, implementation of conservation practices, as well as training and educational programs. A critical element of the World Water Watch mission is to work with village water councils and watershed associations to achieve environmental quality objectives.
Environmental education is achieved through WWW’s programs in schools, in addition to community-based workshops and training activities.
Community involvement in eco-tourism is an important initiative in developing countries where natural resources, biodiversity and overall environmental quality are threatened.
